In the heart of the Karst area of Trieste, the Trail of the Poets winds its way through the cultural and historical roots of the territory. Dedicated to the poets
Srečko Kosovel, Umberto Saba and Igo Gruden, this itinerary represents a union between the two communities, Italian and Slovenian, which now coexist peacefully, albeit with ancient rivalries behind them.
The walk, which is less than a kilometre long, is an opportunity to experience the
peace and quiet of nature. The asphalted path unfolds among oak trees and the characteristic vegetation of the Karst. Starting from the streets of the village of
Col, the route ends at the Fortress of
Monrupino with its
Sanctuary, surrounded by breathtaking views.
