Monrupino
Monrupino is located on the top of a hill offering a suggestive scenery on the Gulf of Trieste.
The area is well known for wine production and traditional craft industries.
The village is surmounted by a sanctuary which, at the time of the Turkish raids, was a fortified church which later become a place of pilgrimage
Every two years, at the end of August, in the sanctuary takes place a typical service of the slovenian community according to the traditions and the costumes of the Slovenian people, called "Nozze Carsiche" (Karst Wedding).
You can also visit the "Karst House" of Rupingrande, a house museum dating from the nineteenth century, that has retained all the architectural features typical of the rural tradition of the Karst.
