Route
The route uses part of the cycle path that is left to continue through the Aquileian countryside, cultivated already in Roman times. Several bridges over canals are crossed, the agricultural area of Boscat, until reaching Belvedere where a small strip of the forest that once covered a wide area remains. In this stretch the route borders the Grado lagoon and the Sanctuary on the island of Barbana, which dominates the view. It returns once again to Aquileia.
Food & wine
Discovering Aquileia, one of the cradles of regional viticulture, where history, land and wines blend with the souls of our producers who maintain a millenary tradition! Among the whites, Friulano and Malvasia stand out, while among the reds the Refosco with red stalk seems to boast ancient origins linked to the Roman Empire. RECOMMENDED DISH: Cold cuts such as salami or pork meat and game
