Rural Museum

The Rural Museum of Forni di Sopra, opened in June 2011, is housed in the historical building "La Casina da Vic", the former cooperative dairy of Vico.

The various sections of the exhibition, which also displays several period photographs, will reveal the many aspects of rural life: winter and summer transport, life in the houses, work in the fields and in the stables, the processing of milk, textile fibres, hemp and flax.

The ground floor features a winter scenery, where you will find sleighs, shovels, snowshoes, crampons and skis, necessary to face the snow.

On the next room you will be welcomed by a family atmosphere: in a typical kitchen, next to the fireplace, you will find the old pater familias, the grandmother with her grandchild and traditional objects of everyday use.

In the third and last section of the exhibition, the large milk processing room is characterised by the large 14-quintal and 16-quintal copper boilers, surrounded by original - often mysterious - tools.
