San Giorgio di Nogaro
A visit of San Giorgio di Nogaro, timidly overlooking the Lagoon of Marano, appears essential for a full immersion in the Lower Friuli area.
It represents an important inland harbour of the Upper Adriatic Sea connected to the industrial area of Aussa-Corno.
The port of San Giorgio is the heart of its economic development and tourism. The modern docks, with a total of about 1,400 berths, where you can scent the fragrance of the sea, will thrill you with its breath-taking sunsets from a boat or from restaurants and lulled by the tinkling of the masts of the sailboats while tasting local products.
The mouth of River Corno, appealing common thread between neighbouring towns, represents the ideal place to appreciate the beauties of flora and fauna of the river and countryside habitat, but also to enjoy relaxing walks and cycling tours.
The prestigious Villa Dora represents today a solid pin of the cultural offer, being the seat of the town library. ItinerAnnia, a food and wine event that takes place in early June, enlivens the Lower Friuli area with its sounds, colours and aromas of traditional local wines and flavours to be offered to tourists as a must-do attraction.
