Dignano

Dignano stands along the river Tagliamento, near a bridge important for its roads connections.

The first information about Dignano goes back to 875, when was built its Church of S. Maria Maggiore (restorated and painted in the 16th century) that today is called "Pieve dei SS. Pietro e Paolo".

In 1276 the whole Friuli area suffered for a terrible flood that completely destroyed Dignano.

The village that today you can visit, was completely rebuilt.

In Dignano, lovers of geology and wildlife can make some easy and interesting excursions.

Worth visiting the San Martino church, the two spinning mills and the Pinocchio's monument (a pine wood statue high nearly 5 meters).
