Compagnia dei Piccoli returns to Cividale! Vittorio Podrecca's famous puppets tell their story in the spectacular exhibition about them at an international Centre. And they are in excellent company: along with them, we can find some fine examples from Maria Signorelli's
puppet collection.
Vittorio Podrecca, originally from Cividale del Friuli, was the greatest Italian impresario and producer of a marionette company, the Teatro dei Piccoli, famous worldwide for decades.
Maria Signorelli was a creator and collector of puppets and marionettes. Her collection, protected by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, includes more than two thousand puppets, marionettes, Sicilian and Neapolitan "pupi", rag dolls, scene backdrops, scripts, puppet theatres and Eastern theatrical figures.
Apart from Charlot, Vittorio Podrecca is the only person to have successfully created such a brilliant puppet show.
