Birdwatchers and nature lovers have an added destination to visit in our region: the “Valle Canal Novo” Reserve in Marano Lagunare, in the province of Udine.
The reserve is an ideal place for nature photography enthusiasts, adults and children eager to embark on a suggestive and stimulating path rich in fauna and flora of different species.
This was the first experience for me. We were immediately greeted by a local guide who promptly explained to us how the reserve was created and how it is structured. Here there are bodies of water of different salinity and huts for the observation of various species of birds.
The routes branch out on paths that pass “over the water” along wooden walkways or immersed in nature. With the help of the guide, binoculars, or camera, you can admire the grey or wild goose, the royal or wild swan, the mallard, garganey, and pochard and many other species. In short, there is no lack of opportunity to see, study and get to know all the birdlife in the area.
Born in Gorizia, I have lived for the last few years abroad and from this experience, I have realized how fortunate we are to have the immense resources that our region offers us. Creativity is the beating heart of every dream and I try to prove it in every photograph or video I make.
