The new Bike Park was inaugurated at the Centro Sportivo Ampezzo (Sports centre) in Ampezzo.
A new route immersed in the surrounding nature that winds through the hills and woods, to be explored by Mtb!
Ampezzo is a small village that stands on a massive spike between the Tagliamento and Lumiei rivers, in the Alpine region of Carnia.
Here we find a Sports Centre, the Centro Sportivo Ampezzano, that in recent years has been completely renovated and that offers athletes and not only, a mix of relaxation amongst nature and physical activities for professionals and amateurs.
It is a sports centre with football, five-a-side, basketball and volleyball fields, a tennis court, gym and swimming pool; it is entirely surrounded by green spaces and includes open-air fitness activities, schools and courses.
The new Bike Park was inaugurated on September 5. A route built from scratch from the safe and compact terrain suitable for all ages that offers the opportunity to try Mtb riding along two routes. The shortest is about 800 metres, and the longest is about 2 km.
So I decided to give it a go and what can I say; if you want to take a break and you love nature and sport you just have to come and try a ride in this area. As a Mtb enthusiast, I tried both routes. The longer one is extraordinary, riding through the woods and just hearing the noise of your bike whizzing along this path makes everything even more captivating. The shortest one, on the contrary, gives you a rush of adrenaline.
Both routes reach a point that branches out into three downhill paths to choose from, with different levels of difficulty from the easiest to the most difficult with technical passages on parabolic bends and jumps for breathtaking descents.
