Larisa Rojnić, piano
Winner of the First Prize ex aequo at the International Music Competition Musica Goritiensis, 4th edition.
Music by Beethoven, Schumann, Mussorgsky.
This solo piano concert takes us on a journey through three very different sound worlds. Beethoven's Sonata Op. 111, the last in his catalog (1822), is an unconventional work: dramatic and intense in the first movement, rarefied and almost mystical in the second, which concludes in an atmosphere of peace and suspension. Schumann's Sonata Op. 22, on the other hand, is full of romantic energy: a succession of passionate outbursts, lyrical moments, and expressive contrasts, as if the piano were directly guided by thought. Finally, with Pictures at an Exhibition (1874), Mussorgsky transforms the piano into a true musical theater: each piece describes an image or a scene, inspired by the drawings of a painter friend, while the "Promenade"—a common thread connecting the miniatures—guides the listener through this imaginary museum. Half a century of time, three visions, one instrument: the piano as an inner voice and narrative landscape.
