A visual narrative spanning decades of jazz and improvisation, capturing the intensity of a music in perpetual transformation. A revelatory encounter with the Die Like a Dog quartet at the Konfrontationen festival in 1994 marked a decisive turning point: from that moment, the gaze became a devoted chronicle of Peter Brötzmann’s art, opening new possibilities for listening to and understanding contemporary improvisation. Over the years, concerts, journeys, and encounters have shaped a valuable archive, a living memory of a profound connection with a radical and indispensable artist. Enriched by contributions from musicians and poets, the exhibition is not merely a retrospective, but a profound and transformative tribute to Brötzmann’s enduring legacy and the visionary force of his art.
The exhibition will be open to visitors during the festival – from 23rd to 26th October – at the Enoteca di Cormòns.
Opening: October, 23rd at 8.30 pm.
