Guido Guidi (Cesena, 1941) is among the international figures who have transformed the way we look at landscapes. His exploration of the language of images has created a visual poetics that investigates the relationship between photography, perception, and time. His works explore the everyday and disorderly landscapes of the provinces, as well as signature architecture, revealing in each shot a reflection on the very act of seeing. Active since the 1960s and long a teacher, he is now recognized as a reference master for multiple generations of photographers.
The exhibition examines Guido Guidi’s work through his archive in Ronta di Cesena, a home and studio that over the years has become a place of life, research, and encounters with other artists. Here, time moves in a circular way, through discoveries, revisitations, and variations, making the archive a privileged access to his poetics. The exhibition also includes a film by Alessandro Toscano dedicated to this space and is structured into 34 photographic sequences curated by Guidi himself, spanning his entire production: from his black-and-white experiments of the 1960s and 1970s, to his landscape studies and later commissions, up to his most recent works.
