Togliano - Villa Volpe Pasini

[16th-18th centuries; 20th century]

Near Villa Maisano is Villa Volpe Pasini, dating from the late 16th century. The villa consists of a main manor house and farm outbuildings related to the management of the agricultural estate.
The manor complex is made up of buildings arranged around a closed courtyard and built in different periods. The original structure from 1596 rises over three levels, with symmetrical openings along the central axis, adorned with stone frames. The arched entrance portal has a rusticated frame, above which is a French window with balusters and a mixtilinear pediment. The farm buildings flank the main body, arranged in an "L" shape inside the courtyard. To the right, a structure with a grand staircase leads to the first floor's balustraded terrace. On the opposite corner, to the left, a 20th-century extension rises two floors with a turret featuring plastered corner ashlars, mullioned windows, and painted framing. The façade is enhanced by a long terrace with a wooden parapet. A large crenellated wall encloses the entire 20,000 square meter ancient park.
The villa, one of the oldest in the region, is listed in the catalog of Venetian villas. Inside, documents attest to the production of Picolit wine for the Habsburgs and the Romanovs as early as the early 18th century. Over the centuries, the villa was a cultural meeting place.
