Prosenicco - Capra Goat’s Bridge
The entire area is characterized by the presence of extensive mesophilous broad-leaved forest vegetation, which are very interesting due to their rich floral diversity and the production of valuable timber. South of Prossenicco, along the narrow valley of the Lerada (Ligrada) stream, near the Capra Bridge, there is a beautiful mixed deciduous forest which climbs up the right side for about 100 meters of elevation gain, reaching an average altitude of 450 meters a.s.l. The dominant tree species is the European Ash, joined by a number of other deciduous trees such as sycamore maple, beech, wild cherry, white hornbeam, field maple, black alder, and white alder. The shrub layer is well-developed, represented by hazelnut, elderberry, hawthorn, and stick flower. The herbaceous understory is rich and diverse, featuring anemones, bellflowers, primroses, baracco, cardamine, pulmonaria, hollow rue, scented woodruff, and crocus. Accessibility: From Prossenicco, follow a dirt road that descends to Capra Bridge. From Piano di Fracadizze, just before the pass, take the same dirt road that leads to Prossenicco, going down to the stream.
