Description

In the first, flat-terrain part (rather close to the entrance point), you can glimpse tracks both to the left bank (one) and to the right bank (a couple)
Under the first of the great jumps, you can notice to the left ruins and a trail leading there. This trail, hard to spot and completely abandoned, leads in 40 minutes to the narrow road to the old military fort. Walk it only if really necessary.
The point where the trail branches off is in the vicinity of the exit, just 5 slopes away.
CAI 425a trail start coordinates:46.397697, 13.2644
Bed access point coordinates: 46.4054, 13.2744
Bed abandonment point coordinates: 46.3965, 13.2713
Gear Wetsuit. In summertime, and without sliding, it may be appropriate to wear the overalls only. The slings of the intermediate terrace and the deviations’ on the great waterfall need periodic replacements. Take into account abandonment rope and maillon rapide.
Downstream access
Driving State Road 13 toward Tarvisio, right after the tunnel over the Resiutta built up area, turn at the fork toward Roveredo and park nearby the bridge over Cuestis Brook, in a visible lot to the left. From here, take CAI 425a trail that branches off a few meters ahead the asphalt road, relatively to the parking lot downstream. This trail, quoted only in the most recent cartography, rises steeply toward a flat area. From here, abandon the main trail and take one that heads to the right (toward the creek) and directly to the weir marking the start of the itinerary.

15 - C 65 Sx + 2 DEV Dx
Together, slopes 14 and 15 constitute the great upper waterfall visible from below. You could easily slope no-stop with 2 80mt ropes, but with considerable friction. On the other hand, slopeing the waterfall with recovery under the roof and using the diverters ensures a complete lack of contact between rock and rope. calata assolutamente priva di contatti tra roccia e corda.
Thus you arrive to a short, flat stretch. Ruins and escape way to Sx.
16 - MC + C 57 Dx
17 - C 29 Sx
18 - C 10 Dx
19 - C 8 Sx (anomalous rest group (1 belaying device only) + tree to the Sx)
20 - C 12 Sx exit
In no time, we’re at the bridge where we left the car nearby. To reach the road, you can walk up the left bank before the bridge, or still to the left but under the bridge as soon as it is possible.
How to read the data sheet
C = slope equipped point
AN = natural ancorage
MC = handrail
PI = halfway point
DEV = Deviation
DIS = downclimb
TB = toboga
TF = leap
The notation Dx (right) and Sx (left), relative to the slope points, the handrail, deviations, etc., always indicate the creek orographic bank, where they are positioned. For instance, DEV Sx indicates that the deviation lays on the left bank, and not to the left of the canyoner that will face the deviation.
