This destination offers two main windspots: the islet by Sacca dei Moreri and Punta Barbacale next to Grado Pineta. Both locations feature wide open spaces suitable for take-offs and landings, even for beginners.
Thanks to the shallowness and calmness of the waters beginners can try their hand at this sport in a safe environment, while more experienced kitesurfers choose Grado’s spots to comfortably practice their unhooked airstyle and freestyle tricks.
The stable, steady and predictable winds - especially in the spring months – are a magnet for kitesurfing enthusiasts who flock here even during the low season. It is not unusual to see up to 200 brightly coloured kites twirling above the sea as soon as the wind starts to blow.
Even young children can familiarise themselves with this sport under the guidance of qualified instructors and by using smaller kites that are easier to control.
