Enjoy actively the coast of Friuli Venezia Giulia: choose YOUR outdoor experience

In Friuli Venezia Giulia the sports offer for a holiday in contact with nature can satisfy all tastes: from the "slow" options, for those who want to recharge their physical and mental energies, to the more adrenaline ones for those search for new emotions.

The water sports you can enjoy along the coast of Friuli Venezia Giulia are an opportunity to discover the area in a particular and engaging way, feeling part of it, and building your own tailor-made active holiday. From canoeing excursions under the Castle of Duino or through the reeds of the Foci dello Stella Regional Reserve, to SUP tours in the naturalistic paradises of the Lagoon of Grado and Marano or paddling in the Gulf of Trieste with Piazza Unità d’Italia as background; from snorkelling in the Miramare Marine Protected Area to discovering the treasure of marine biodiversity, to kitesurfing stunts in front of the wild and unspoiled landscape of the Isola delle Conchiglie by Lignano Sabbiadoro, to sailing, windsurfing or swimming lessons on the beaches.

An unmissable experience to explore the silence of the magical lagoon landscape at a slow pace are the excursions by motorboat that allow you to observe the peculiar local birdlife  with a naturalistic guide and to savour the local food directly on the boat or in one of the typical fishermen's huts: the “casoni”.

For those who want to stay active even on the beach there are animation activities you can enjoy with your feet on the sand such as group dancing, fitness courses, nordic walking, pilates, muscle awakening, sunset yoga, open-air gyms, as well as excursions with the fat sand bike, beach volley, basketball and beach tennis!

Not far from the sea there are many other opportunities such as the Golf Clubs of Lignano Sabbiadoro, Grado and Trieste, immersed in heavenly places.

There are also many footpaths along the Karst and Val Rosandra that allow you to discover the history and culture of this particular territory where Slavic, Latin and Germanic elements coexist: castles, open-air museums of the Great War, bunkers of the Cold War and the peculiar architecture of the small towns around Trieste: these are just some of the things that can be discovered a few kilometres from Trieste. But the Karst rock is also for climbing and the splendid cliffs lead to discovering particular views overlooking the sea.
