Pulfero

Pulfero is a locality situated along the Natisone River, near the border with Slovenia, in a landscape of remarkable beauty, dominated by the towering peaks of Mount Mia and Mount Matajur, both accessible via a network of well-marked and easily navigable trails.
The territory of the municipality is rich in historical and archaeological remains, dating from prehistory to the Middle Ages. Notable examples include the ruins of Ahrensperg Castle in Biacis and the fortified site of the Cave of San Giovanni d'Antro, a historic-monumental complex that perfectly blends history, art, culture, and the natural wealth of the region. Equally important are the votive chapels, traditional places of worship and gathering for the community, such as those of Saint James the Apostle, Saint Donatus the Martyr, Saint Ulrich on the Mountain, the Holy Spirit, or Saint Nicholas. These chapels are found in the characteristic villages of Biacis, Lasiz, Rodda, Cicigolis, Pegliano, and Ossiach, where many traditional stone and wood buildings are still preserved.
This area offers numerous routes ideal for Mountain Biking and E-biking.
