An eighteenth-century residence in the centre of Paularo, the first village in Friuli-Venezia Giulia to be part of the Mountaineers' Villages, houses an incredible collection of musical instruments that can truly be described as the historical memory of the organ, harpsichord and piano.
The instruments, which are displayed on three floors within the building and exhibited with great care and elegance, are part of the furnishings of what was home for years to the composer Maestro Canciani, a prominent personality and artist of great sensibility who was devoted to music and the arts in all its manifestations.
Each fully restored and perfectly functioning instrument has a story of its own: discover their secrets, musical characteristics and origin on a tour conducted by the founder's son Daniel Canciani.
The residence is enriched by the presence of 18th-century furnishings and manuscripts of unpublished music created by important international composers. The bookshelves also feature valuable antique editions of theology, philosophy and history as proof of Maestro Canciani's great scholarly and cultural knowledge.
La Mozartina is just one of the sections of the Mistirs Ecomuseum in Paularo, which was established with the goal of recovering and enhancing the historical and cultural memory of the Incaroio valley, and the tour also includes an itinerary to discover its other prestigious sections.
