This loop starts from Latisana, from where you cycle across the Tagliamento river to Morsano al Tagliamento. You proceed towards Cordovado, once the summer residence of the bishops of Concordia Sagittaria. This village is listed among the “Most Beautiful Villages of Italy” especially for its medieval village complete with defensive towers, gates, and period buildings. From Cordovado you leave Friuli Venezia Giulia behind and enter Veneto, until you arrive in the saddle at Teglio Veneto, located within what was once a Roman centuriation. You continue to Alvisopoli, a hamlet of Fossalta di Portogruaro, built at the beginning of the nineteenth century as an “ideal city” by the Venetian count Alvise Mocenigo. Then you continue to San Michele al Tagliamento, from where you return to Latisana.
