A bicycle tour that starts in the Renaissance mosaic city of Spilimbergo and dives into a fascinating nature trail in the Magredi of the Meduna and Cellina rivers.
Itinerary
This loop starts from the Renaissance beauty of the mosaic city, Spilimbergo, with its charming village and castle, and then opens up to the rugged natural beauty of the Magredi of the Meduna and Cellina, territories formed by large pebbles, gravel, sand and little soil. The route passes through Provesano, where it is possible to visit the Church of San Leonardo, to Rauscedo, a center of excellence for Cooperative Nurseries viticulture. Finally, the loop route returns to Spilimbergo, where it closes its circle.
Food & wine
In Rauscedo, 60 percent of the national rootstock is produced with a careful and traceable management of the production chain, which has been satisfying a large part of the wine market for years, and in particular for Pinot Grigio, Friulano, Ribolla Gialla and Prosecco wines. RECOMMENDED DISH: Guinea fowl and polenta.
In Rauscedo, the largest nursery-growing complex in the world is located. It is the Rauscedo Cooperative Nurseries (VCR).
