Tarvisio-Fusine Lakes Itinerary (P010)

Starting from Tarvisio Boscoverde Station, this suggestive cycle route leads towards enchanting Fusine, culminating with a final climb unveiling the magnificent Fusine Lakes. The cycle path, laid on an old railway from Tarvisio to Jesenice, offers a gradual ascent through the picturesque Fusine plain, at the border between Italy and Slovenia. The entire route is paved, with a bike path section up to Scichizza; from here, the path to the Lower Lake can continue on gravel along the cycle-pedestrian route. The section between Scichizza and the lakes may have moderate vehicle traffic, especially during summer and weekends. It is recommended to avoid it in winter months due to snow. Suitable for all geared bicycles.
The route is accessible from the Tarvisio Boscoverde railway station via the FVG 1/a cycle path. Detouring towards the Scichizza peat bog biotope opens up a unique natural world.
