A route for MTBs and e-bikes in a mountainous environment that leads from Dardago up the valley of the Artugna stream to the village of Piancavallo.

The route begins in Budoia, a locality where numerous archaeological finds have been unearthed testifying to the antiquity of the settlement and where the small church of San Tomè was built in the past, which still fascinates those who visit it today. We pedal with a slight incline towards the hamlet of Dardago and then begin the climb along the Artugna that leads to Sauc. The scenery on the plain below and the steep walls and gorges of the Artugna is nothing short of spectacular! From Sauc you continue and in a short time you reach Piancavallo, the final destination of the route that is particularly popular with lovers of sport and outdoor activities in both winter and summer.Other routes begin here that can be followed for the return journey: the asphalted road that descends to Aviano (the well-known climb taken by the Giro d'Italia) or the signposted 'MontaneVie' route that crosses the Cansiglio plateau among malghe (shepherd's huts) and pastures until reaching Caneva and Sacile.

    Author’s recommendation

MTB route, also passable with an electric bike by those without much training.
