A route where you pedal between the hinterland and the coast, here the scents and flavors of Mediterranean herbs mingle with those of the sea.
Riding your own bike, it will be a pleasure to pedal along this route that embraces mountains and sea.
We start from Visogliano to reach Sistiana, a place well known for its bay that attracts sea lovers in summer. After passing Borgo San Mauro, we continue to Aurisina, a place known for its "Karst marble," or stone. Near the Ivo Gruden Middle School you will take the Sage Trail. From here you pedal in the direction of Trieste among juniper bushes and sumac, a very robust plant that characterizes the Karst area. The route then winds through wine-growing country, while in the distance you catch a glimpse of Miramare Castle in all its glory. From Grignano you arrive in Trieste by way of Barcola, a place beloved by Triestines and tourists alike for its waterfront promenades. An enthralling itinerary where the mountains kiss the sea, where Karst culture and traditions blend with the elegance of the city of Trieste.
