Bicycle touring route around the town of Palmanova, a "must" for those visiting Friuli Venezia Giulia!
This itinerary starts from Palmanova, a fortress built from the end of the 16th century for the defense of Venice is a National Monument, which since 2017 has also become part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition to the famous walls, there are many historical, architectural, and natural attractions, such as the bastion park with its underground counter tunnels and the Great War and Fortress of Porta Cividale Museum. The surrounding area offers cues for visits and food and wine experiences. A stop in Clauiano, an ancient medieval village that, with its stone houses, has been named one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, is recommended.
