Bike route south of Sacile, along the rivers Livenza and Meduna, to discover a territory rich in nature and history.
The bike excursion starts from the Sacile train station and continues along the course of the Livenza and Meduna rivers. Some stretches of this itinerary run close to the banks of the two watercourses, which accompany cyclists with their fresh gurgling. Along the course of the Livenza, you will encounter Villa Varda with its large tree-lined park and the famous medieval village of Portobuffolè (member of the Most Beautiful Villages of Italy) in Veneto just beyond the border with Friuli Venezia Giulia. When returning to Sacile, in Prata di Pordenone, it will be possible to run alongside and admire the Meduna river up close.

Sacile is also the starting point of the Sacile Ring route and the Gorgazzo, which takes you to discover the springs of the Livenza.
The route starts at Piazza Libertà near the Sacile train station and heads south towards Schiavoi. After passing it, continue towards Brugnera on the cycle path until San Giovanni di Livenza. From here, continue always towards Brugnera, located on the banks of the Livenza. Leaving Brugnera, it is possible to take the cycle path up to the exit of the roundabout towards Gaiarine and Portobuffolè. Continue on the road that runs alongside Villa Varda and its park and proceed south towards Portobuffolè following the course of the Livenza until San Cassiano di Livenza and then Talmassons. At this point, cross the regional border entering Veneto in the medieval village of Portobuffolè. Continue for a stretch along the cycle path and head towards Ghirano, re-entering Friuli Venezia Giulia. Continue now along the right bank of the Meduna, passing Ghirano and Villanova to reach Prata di Pordenone, where it will be possible to admire the Meduna up close. Head north to reach Palse and then Pieve. Return towards Sacile, running alongside the railway at a short distance on the stretch that connects Sacile to Fontanafredda. Reach again the Sacile train station crossing the town center and the Livenza river.
