Get on your bike and start the challenge. From the highest mountain in Austria to the sea at Grado, a 328-kilometre route that follows the route of the Fuga 300 event.
We start at the Grossglockner (Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe), the highest mountain in Austria at 2369 metres above sea level. You descend and pass Heiligenblut, one of the most beautiful villages in the entire Alpine region. You cross the entire valley to Winklern, where you can see the ancient medieval tower, symbol of the town centre. You cross much of Carinthia and arrive at Villach, an important centre before crossing the Italian-Austrian border and entering Friuli Venezia Giulia. Welcomed by the town of Tarvisio, the cyclist crosses Lake Raibl to Sella Nevea and through Val Raccolana descends to Chiusaforte. We pass the towns of Moggio Udinese, Venzone and Gemona del Friuli to the ducal city of Cividale del Friuli. Through the hills you arrive at Cormons, the city of wine. From here the route becomes flat, we reach Aquileia, an ancient Roman city and UNESCO World Heritage site, and arrive in Grado along the scenic lagoon road.
