From the station of Ugovizza-Valbruna, briefly follow the FVG1 bike track toward Tarvisio to the junction where the itinerary begins as it runs through the small alpine village of Valbruna. Beyond the hamlet, we continue along an internal road and then over gravel paths; on the way, we encounter the war cemetery and several Austro-Hungarian military works that can be visited, some farmhouses and shelters, and the precious and rare "resonance" for trees that are highly sought after in the manufacture of string instruments. At the end of the circuit, we arrive at the Saisera alpine hut and the Madonna della Neve chapel, the starting point for the climb, on foot or by MTB to the Grego refuge and the slopes of Montasio. The return to the station of Valbruna follows a route that is in part an alternative to the outward section of the circuit.
Author’s recommendation
Type of track: a moderately challenging route, part of which is on paved roads and the rest on gravel tracks. The gravel surfaces, created for cross-country ski trails and forest access, are wide and compact, but can sometimes be slightly rutted and rocky. It crosses the Saisera river and its tributaries over several fords, some regulated with specially constructed pipes and roads, while others are merely traced on the riverbed. This itinerary is appropriate for MTBs and E-MTBs. The itinerary is not accessible from December to April as a result of snow. The circuit cannot be used in the days following heavy rains, because the fords and paths near the riverbed of the Saisera river may be damaged or lost.

Safety information
Slightly demanding itinerary, partly on asphalted roads and partly on dirt tracks, which are wide and compact but sometimes rutted and stony. The Saisera stream and its tributaries are crossed on some fords: if there is heavy rain, the itinerary will not be practicable in the days immediately following, and fords and roads close to the riverbed of the Saisera stream may be damaged or disappear.
