Itinerary
After crossing the city centre, in the Molin Nuovo area begins the Rogge cycle path which follows the watercourses up to Zompitta, where the catching structure is located. It is a pleasant route through fields, meadows, vineyards, rural villages and ancient mills. Although poorly signposted, it is easy to follow because it is quite popular with cyclists all year round. The return is by the lightly trafficked roads of the Oltre Torre area and through the plains cycle path (FVG 4) between Povoletto and Udine.
Food & wine
Udine is the city of the "tajùt" ritual, literally a glass of wine, which you can order in taverns by asking for a taj di ros or a taj di blanc. The perfect accompaniment is certainly frico, a soft cheese pie to which potatoes, vegetables or aromatic herbs can be added! RECOMMENDED DISH: Soft frico with potatoes and onion
Author’s recommendation
The route is suitable for families with children aged 10 and over.
