A pleasant excursion in the foothills of the Julian Pre-Alps.

The route, which if done in its entirety looks like a ring, leads to an evocative part of the course of the Orvenco torrent, where the waters cascade in numerous waterfalls of both natural and artificial origin, creating suggestive points from which to admire reflections and the surrounding nature.

The first part ascends on the orographic left through woods and clearings with short steeper parts with steps. This is followed by a flat section where the riverbed widens. On reaching the iron bridge, the path bends to the right towards Monte Faeit, but it is worth taking a short diversions to the ‘Bastart’ pond, a very picturesque spot. Having left the bridge, the path climbs up the northern ridges of Faeit to the saddle at an altitude of 700 metres, between M. Campeon and M. Faeit.

The route, always indicated by dedicated signs, proceeds towards the valley with a long descent on dirt and asphalted roads to the starting point.

On hot summer days, it is possible to bathe in some puddles, so bring a swimming costume just in case!
