The Laste di San Daniele, distinctive rock formations resembling huge books stacked one on top of the other, are located on the ridge line just below the summit of Monte Piave, and can be reached from Erto following the ancient access paths to the woods, pastures, and meadows of the Tamers and the Monte Borgà massif.
From Erto, following the signs for Val Zemola, you reach the beginning of the trail (signage indicating Laste di San Daniele). Once started, it is followed crossing some houses (Forcai) and intersecting and crossing the historic Sentiero del Carbone (Trui dal Sciarbon). The trail climbs through the forest, becoming more sparse, until it reaches more open areas, near the ruins of the Tamers hut, then arriving at a fork. From here, the path climbs to the left on terrain characterized by the presence of a dwarf pine thicket, until it emerges onto a small scree slope and then the ruins of Casera Borgà, located on the lower edge of a valley. From this point, the trail gains a ridge facing East (to the right), and then continues to the left along a wide grassy ledge to reach the final slope that leads to a saddle on the ridge, very panoramic towards the Cadore Dolomites. At this point, the trail splits, to the right it reaches the summit of Monte Borgà and to the left it continues in the direction of the Laste di San Daniele, staying just below the ridge of Monte Sterpezza, gently descending until reaching the flat spur where the rock formations are located.
