Bike-sharing, around the city on two wheels

The Tarvisio area offers a number of opportunities for those who like cycling. You can ride over the border into Austria and Slovenia, or head for the lakes of Fusine, always along well-marked trails, some asphalted and others dirt roads. So what better way to discover the territory?
Usually, when I go for a cycle ride I do not know how many miles I will end up doing and what routes and experiences are waiting for me.
Today, however, I am certain: I want to arrive in Udine following the Ciclabile Alpe Adria Radweg (FVG 1) route, which has been nominated the best cycle route of Europe and connects Salzburg to Grado.
Every kilometre gives me opportunities for some photography. Like the snail I saw intent on crossing the road, which almost seems like a message from nature inviting me to slow down!
The CAAR from Tarvisio to Udine Moggio is an experience not to be missed: it is suitable for cyclists of all ages. In this section of the trail, the difference in height is in your favour if you are pedalling towards Udine, and the route is all paved and safe.
Before arriving at Moggio Udinese, the route passes through many “cool” tunnels (I recommend a lamp and a jacket), and passes by the station of Chiusaforte: this is a refreshment point for all cyclists, where it is also possible to exchange views with other bike lovers of all nationalities, while eating something or drinking a good cool beer.
After Moggio Udinese, the cycle track ends and you have to pedal to Venzone on the main Pontebbana road.
From Venzone to Udine, the Ciclovia resumes: a dedicated asphalt and dirt track route passing through Gemona, Osoppo, and Buia, across expanses of fields rich in flora and fauna, just a short distance from the Tagliamento river, until you reach the Parco del Cormor in Udine after 140 km.
