At Palazzo Montereale Mantica, in the heart of the historic centre of Pordenone, the “Showcase of the Friulian Dolomites – UNESCO Heritage” exhibition is open to the public until May 28, 2017, and pays tribute to this extraordinary natural area, highlighting its many aspects. The exhibition is divided into 4 sections: Culture, Tourism, Crafts and Traditions.
On the ground floor, you can hear “The voices of the forest”. Like in an enchanted forest, the tree trunks on display talk to us via headphones in the words of Mauro Corona, who has always been a spokesman for the mountains. Thanks to his narrative, we will easily associate with this or that tree, depending on our personal characteristics.

Going up to the first floor, visitors dive into the landscape of the Friulian Dolomites with the 3D viewers available. Immediately you are catapulted into endless meadows, deep gorges, mysterious forests, and everywhere your look there is something to discover, in a parallel dimension that takes your breath away.
In the section devoted to the crafts, there are exhibits of local productions concerning the working of stone and wood, textile arts and shoe making, including the traditional scarpet of Val Colvera.

Guided by the constant noise of the hammer on the anvil, we enter the final section of the exhibition: Gesti Fieno Saperi (Gestures Hay Wisdom). In an intimate atmosphere, the rural texts on the panels accompany us to the fragrant hayrick made by scything grass, as illustrated in the projection.
This multi-sensorial tour connects the visitor with the typical aspects of the beautiful Friulian Dolomites.
