The Laste di San Daniele, characteristic rock formations resembling huge books stacked one on top of the other, are located on the ridgeline just below the summit of Mount Piave, and can be reached from Erto by following the ancient access trails to the forests, pastures and grasslands of the Tamers and the Mount Borgà massif.
From Erto, following the signs for Val Zemola, you reach the beginning of the trail (signs indicating Laste di San Daniele). Once on it, follow it crossing some houses (Forcai) and going to intersect and cross the historic Sentiero del Carbone(Trui dal Sciarbon). The trail climbs along the increasingly sparse forest until it reaches more open areas, at the ruins of the Tamers cheese factory, and then reaches a junction. From here the trail starts to climb to the left on terrain characterized by the presence of a scrub of mountain pine, until it comes out at a small scree and then at the ruins of Casera Borgà, located on the lower edge of a valley. From this point, the trail gains a ridge set toward the east (on the right), and then travels left along a wide grassy ledge to reach the terminal slope that leads onto a ridge saddle, very panoramic toward the Cadore Dolomites. At this point the trail splits, to the right it reaches the summit of Monte Borgà and, to the left, it continues in the direction of the Laste di San Daniele holding just below the ridge of Monte Sterpezza, gently lowering until it reaches the flat shoulder where the rock formations are located.
