Pravisdomini

The municipality of Pravisdomini comprises the hamlets of Barco, Frattina and Panigai.

Its name, which appeared only after the year 1000, derives from Latin pratum vice domini, which surely indicated the estates of a vice-dominus, that is to say, an administrator depending of the Patriarch of Aquileia and on the Bishop of Concordia.

Visitors will be interested, as well as in the quiet of the places immersed in the green setting of a relaxing agriculture, in the artistic heritage as well.

The origins of Pravisdomini and of its hamlets, in fact, are very ancient. The first human settlements date back to the Neolithic age (1250 B.C.), evidence of which is provided by some worked flints found on the banks of the river Sile in Panigai.

Among the many pieces preserved in the Town Hall you will see some ceramic items that can be dated back to the Bronze Age; furthermore, there are many finds that can be dated back to the pre-Roman, Roman and medieval ages.
