Lapidary of St. Euphemia Cathedral
The Lapidary of Sant'Eufemia Cathedral in Grado is to found in a very narrow but highly evocative place close to Grado's Sant'Eufemia Cathedral (which dates back to around 579 AD).
In the lapidary of Grado hundreds of sculptured fragments and epigraphs dating back to the castrum gradense are on show.
The largest collection refers to early Christian and high medieval times (4th-9th centuries) but visitors can also admire valuable examples of classic Roman sculpture, such as the two magnificent carved sarcophagus facades that date back to the beginning of the 3rd century as well as a remarkable magistrate portrait in stone dating back to the beginning of the 4th century.
