Museum of Natural History of Pordenone
The Museum of Natural History in Pordenone is located inside the five hundred-year-old Palazzo Amalteo. It holds a significant naturalistic collection, which is of both local and national interest.
Here you can find the minerals (there are more than 10,000 samples) and fossils' displays, the famous 19th century bird collection; the insect collection; the diorama room, the habitat reconstructions and local environments, the Theatrum Naturae room, the 16th and 17th century wonders and natural curiosity room (the two headed calf, the three-legged chicken, the unicorn's horn, etc.).
The technology section of the Museum of Natural History includes thousands of ancient scientific instruments as well as a collection of naval models.
