The
Friulian Farming Culture Museum of Aiello del Friuli is located in the historic centre of a
restored farm complex, made up of four buildings each from a different period (from the 18th to the beginning of the 20th century).
More than
20,000 original objects have been brought together
divided into thirty thematic sections which each tell the story of farming culture in the territory over a period of time from 1500 to 1918, from transport (farm carts, gigs, ploughs, wheelbarrows, etc.) to wine, grappa, trades and women's work, etc.
Ample space of the Friulian farming culture museum has been given to the
rooms of a rural house of the period. In the courtyard
16 sundials can be seen which document the different techniques used to measure time; it is for this reason that Aiello del Friuli is known as
the sundial town.
