Archaeological Museum of Montereale Valcellina

The Archaeological Museum of Montereale Valcellina (MAMV), set up in the prestigious seventeenth-century building complex of Palazzo Toffoli, displays the handmade items found thanks to the intense excavation and research activity carried out in the municipal territory during the last twenty years of the 20th century.

The research, coordinated by Friuli Venezia Giulia's Archaeological Heritage Department, has brought to life a series of materials that provide evidence of the use of the area in a continuous way from the Recent Bronze Age (14th cent. B.C.) until today, with periods of greater or lesser intensity.

The visit to the Municipal Archaeological Museum of Montereale Valcellina, entrusted to the staff of the Immaginario Scientifico Science Centre, will allow to make a journey from Proto-History to the Middle Ages, letting you discover the rich history of an old built-up area, which constitutes an important step in the understanding of the historical evolution of Western Friuli.

Moreover, the Museum provides children with the opportunity to enjoy the play and educational workshops dedicated to children from 5 to 11 years old and organized by the Immaginario Scientifico Science Centre.
