Archaeological Museum Iulium Carnicum
The archaeological museum of Zuglio, presents relics from the ancient Roman city of Iulium Carnicum. It is built on three floors and is subdivided into three main sections which trace the history of human settlements in this area, from the Bronze Age to the Iron Age.
The main section, located on the first floor, preserves relics coming from the areas of the Roman forum, from the baths and from the private buildings, found during the excavations carried out in Zuglio in 19th century.
The museum houses the permanent exhibition "The Art Force: the found five wooden sculptures by Domenico da Tolmezzo from the St. Peter Parish altar", which was re-found in 2016 by the "Comando Carabinieri Tutela Patrimonio Culturale".
The top floor of the museum is dedicated to the history of Zuglio, from Roman times to the Middle Ages and Renaissance.
