Clautana house museum

For visitors, the exhibition tour of the Museo Casa Clautana (Casa Clautana Museum) documents the life, in the past, of the women of Claut, and more generally of the Valcellina, where material resources were scarce yet much coherence, dignity and confidence in the choices of life were to be found.

The female population was traditionally engaged in activities that not only included doing housework and working in the fields but also selling wooden utensils made by local craftsmen, therefore the women had to travel on foot fòra pal mónt (around the world) as itinerant peddlers.

Not far from the Museum, you can also visit the Ciasa da Fum, the ancient Clautana house dating back to the 16th century, preserved by time and restored by meticulous conservative intervention.

The museum is accessible to people with reduced mobility.
