Sesto al Reghena

Sesto al Reghena is associated with the magnificent Benedictine abbey of Santa Maria in Sylvis, dating back to the 7th century, around which the village grew. It is now included in the "Borghi più belli d'Italia" (most beautiful villages in Italy).

In addition to the basilica, the remains of the abbey complex include the strong entrance tower, the only one left of the seven defence towers built in the second half of the 10th century, the bell tower, formerly a look-out tower, the chancellery, with a large Romanesque façade, the abbey residence and the canonical house.
