Sequals
Under an archaeological point of view Sequals (together with its hamlets) is undoubtly the most important one of the whole Friuli Venezia Giulia area; many finds of Roman epoch (4 necropolis, a Roman country villa and many settlements dating to that period) and of prehistoric times (the oldest date to 80.000-30.000 years ago) have been found here.
But there are also many remains of Medieval times, too: for example the castle of Solimbergo and the two chapels of S. Fosca and S. Zeno which dates to the Langobard and Franc dominations.
Sequals, seriously damaged by the earthquake in 1976, is today well known as the land of the mosaics.
