Romans d'Isonzo
Romans d'Isonzo is a town built all around its church that counts many buildings with typical front doors in stone.
The finds of the area prove its Roman origins.
The three villages that originally formed the community of Romans d'Isonzo were protected by "Villa Zenta" walls, that were built around the church. Today about the church you can see only a beautiful Madonna by Antonio da Venice.
For many centuries the most important religious center of the neighborhood had been the village of Versa, also remembered for the fightings of July 1866, just before the signature of the armistice of Cormons.
