Prata di Pordenone

The municipality of Prata comprises the hamlets of Ghirano, Prata di Sopra e di Sotto, Puja, Villanova and the localities of Borgo Passo, Le Monde, Peressine.

An estate of the powerful and ancient Porcia-Brugnera family from Friuli and the cradle of men who stood out in battles, in diplomacy, in culture (such as cardinal Pileo, who founded the first university college of Padua, still existing near St. Anthony's Basilica), in 1420 Prata's castle was completely destroyed by the Venetians.

Among the signs of evolved farming and of a well-developed furniture industry, Prata preserves titles of ancient nobility.
