It was autumn 1593 when the Superintendents sent from Venice identified among some villages of a territory disputed with Austria, a plot on which to erect a fortress able to defend the city of Venice from the Turkish invasions and aspirations of the Austrian Empire: thus Palmanova was born, a nine-pointed star, which encapsulates the military expectations and the Renaissance dream of an ideal city.
With the audio guide, you can take a journey back in time to discover the secrets of the most beautiful star city, you can get caught up in the difficult game between besieged and besiegers, made up of rules, pitfalls and secrets to unravel.
Are you ready? We will tell you about the gates to the city, the Venetian aqueduct, the system of rivels and bulwarks.
At the end of the journey, you will take home with you the charm of the stone architecture and the land of this fortress never defeated over the centuries, and feared for its mere presence.
The path is partially available to people with mobility disabilities. However, it is advisable to be accompanied in case of any unevenness along the route that may occur.
