There are over 600 logos in Yugo Logo, the project that since 2019 has collected graphic symbols from the former Yugoslavia. For this stop in Trieste, the first outside the territories of the former Federal Republic, in addition to a selection of the most iconic "made in Yugoslavia" brands, three special features have been created for the Cavò: tourism, cinema, and theater, and finally a tribute to several Yugoslavian designers. In recent years, Yugo Logo has visited Croatia, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro, with the aim of celebrating memory and recovering this once shared heritage of design, innovation, and creativity, often with the highest standards.
Ognjen Ranković è un grafico di Belgrado nato nel 1991. Ha lavorato, individualmente e in gruppo, sul design grafico di oltre 100 progetti commerciali. Nel 2019 ha fondato il progetto di ricerca yugo.logo, un archivio fisico e digitale di loghi creati in Jugoslavia. Ognjen Ranković è anche autore di due libri su yugo logo (pubblicati da Radnja, Zagabria) e insieme ai suoi partner è stato curatore di oltre 16 mostre nei territori dell’ex Jugoslavia.
Antonio Karača is a graphic designer born in Požega, who now lives and works in Zagreb. He has worked at Parabureau, Fahrenheit/McCann Erickson, Craft, and Radnja. He has received several awards for his graphic design work, including first place for the visual identity of the Tourist Board of the City of Zadar in 2018. In addition to his work, he also teaches subjects such as graphic design, web design, visual identity standards, and design in the music industry.
