Description
The Municipality of Trieste is co-organising the event that will inaugurate the concert season of the European youth symphony orchestra ESYO - European Spirit of Youth Orchestra on 5 January. Following the public success of the concert celebrating the 30th anniversary of the European youth orchestra ESYO - European Spirit of Youth Orchestra held on 5 January 2024 in the Sala Generali of the Politeama Rossetti, the cultural association Scuola per Giovani Musicisti Europei (SGME), chaired by Ezio Perillo (former judge of the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg and Honorary Consul of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Trieste) has decided to hold an annual on 5 January, an opening concert for the concert season of the European youth orchestra ESYO, described as a “true prophecy of peace” by the Bishop of Modena and Vice-President of the CEI, Don Erio Castellucci.
In addition to the Ode to Joy from Ludwig van Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, the concert also features two symphonic masterpieces by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky:
Variations on a Rococo Theme for cello and orchestra, Op. 33, performed by cellist Alberto Casadei and conducted by Maestro Nenad Petkovic;
the Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35, performed by violinist Alexandra Tirsu under the direction of maestro Igor Coretti Kuret.
The concert will be recorded by Rai Friuli Venezia Giulia, media partner of the event.
