The voice of sea

Description

More than just a concert: a narrative and musical journey paying tribute to one of Greece’s greatest composers, Manos Hatzidakis, on the centenary of his birth. A musical Odyssey sung entirely in Greek, where each song marks a stage, an encounter, a memory—from the sea to dusty village roads, from nostalgia to love, from animals to the stars, traversing the voices of childhood, old age, and dreams. It is a poetic itinerary of words, sounds, and images evoking the Greece of the soul—a place we all feel is our own, even if we have never lived there. The deep, vibrant voice of Franco-Greek singer Aliki Pappas intertwines with the sounds of the Thalassa Ensemble, conducted by Davide Coppola, featuring Andrea Corazza (clarinet), Carolina Pérez Tedesco (piano), Camilla Collet (drums), Cristiano Devitor (guitar), Enrico Apostoli (double bass), and Riccardo Pitacco (oud). A story that speaks to everyone: a journey of discovery and return, both real and symbolic.
