Solo exhibition by Erna Vukmanic

Description

Erna Vukmanic, born in Zagreb to a family of musicians, has lived in Udine since 1969, where she is well-known for her artistic expression, which consists of depicting singular Characters...and People, as the title of the exhibition suggests. The large-scale oil paintings are easily recognizable for their ironic, caricatural style. Brightly colored, they alternate male and female figures, drawing their expressive peculiarities from the artist's keen observation of ordinary people, whom she makes protagonists. Erna Vukmanic has a precise artistic education, deepened with various master's degrees. She presents her solo exhibition in Udine at the same gallery, some 30 years after her last.

Opening on Saturday, April 18th at 6:30 pm, with Udine City Councilor Margherita Susanna in attendance, and the artist in conversation with gallery director Maristella Cescutti.

Visiting hours:
Thursday, Friday (closed on May 1st) and Saturday from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Sunday from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM
